Well. As the judges said get set go and the Director said, lights, camera, action - yes it was. Action that was seen at Aircel Naga Idol Kohima auditions. The auditions on the 4th of July were conducted with utmost professionalism by the Kohima Partners of MDACC - XL in association with Orange Events. And going by the accounts coming to us from those who saw the young wannabees, the enteratiners of the next year, the Idol Finalists were born today - Born on the 4th of July on Aircel Naga Idol Stage. Does it get bigger than this. Yes, my colleague in MDACC says, it is more than BIGGER, in fact this year it is BIGGER, BOLDER & BETTER....

The show was marked by the presence of none other than Abu Metha, Press Secretary to Chief Minister, Nagaland and as per Abu, today's auditions was a lot of fun. And the contestants, he said can entertain all of us a lot in the days to come.

One of the contestants, Aton Konyak from St Josephs College, Jakhama said that this contest is a big challenge and a kind of encouragement for the youth. Meren hoped that this years show will be more entertaining. Atseizo and Tsito said that Naga Idol is the platform to launch the young Naga talent to the professional music world. Roko was very excited to take part and said that he is already having a great time. Vibhou from Midland, Kohima said that It is a good beginning. Beginnings are difficult but with practice there is light at the end of the tunnel. She wanted stress to be given on originality. Samuel Konyak said that this contest gives a platform to an individual to expose the gift of Almighty God. Lipok Longkumer said that music is in the blood of the Nagas. Honkup Konyak said that this show gives us an opportunity to listen to the voice of talented singers. Dr Wabang said that Naga Idol is a very good initiative and in fact a 'Break' for many talented young Naga Singers., whose dream into oblivion may be realised into reality. He even hoped for more professionalism, in the organization, production and distribution.

The judges were very impressed and Gugs, Head of Music Task Force, said that this year the contestants are more diverse and conducting auditions in more districts have thrown in lots of surprises. He was impressed by talented singers coming from Kiphire and Mon and hoped that Wokha and Tuensang will surely give the singers from Kohima, Dimapur and Mokokchung, a run for their money. So far So Good. We are looking for an enteratining four months.

We are trying to improve the production quality of the videos. Hopefully we will have some sponsors coming over that can help us get professional Directors and cameramen to help us produce slick videos. We thank everyone and look forward to continued support.
