THE RUSH IS ON

Soon after the launch of Naga Idol 2.07 on 25th May 2007 by Hon’ble CM Neiphiu Rio, the rush for this years contestants is on. Encouraged by the response of people to the first ever Naga Idol contest, this year there is a rush amongst the up and coming singers to get themselves registered for the auditions.

The audition procedure is very simple. Just by sending a SMS or by making a call to the Naga Idol office in Mokokchung registration is done and the contestants get a provisional Contestant No. Thereafter in their chosen place of audition they have to come and fill in the forms, deposit the fees of Rs 300/- get an exclusive M Fest T Shirt free of contest, give 2 photos, clear up their throats and be ready for the auditions.

Fairly Simple. And Exciting.

Not a bad way for young singers to begin their journey of music and of fame. The contestants this year seem to be encouraged by the response that Moanungsang or Emilo or Leochum and the other Naga Idol contestants got last year and continue to get in their performances and concerts. Infact when the Idols were honoured by the Chief Minister in Mokokchung, last week, the packed audience recognized all of them.

These young singers are one of the most recognizable faces in the whole State today. People identify with them and love their music irrespective of the place or the District from which they come for. Idols are themselves enjoying all the love and the adulation. And they have been working hard. Hardly a week passes by when one does not read or hear about a concert or a show with one of the Idols. Infact Achen Imchen has already recorded an album and going by the numbers he rendered in the concert at Mokokchung, he rocks. Music Lovers will grab his album as soon as it hits the stores. Moa has also almost finished his album and he is already a Star.

So MDACC calls upon all the young singers to make the move and register themselves and join the show that is going to rock the whole of Nagaland and beyond this Summer. Its gonna be Bigger, Bolder & Better.
