Our world today is in desperate need of forgiveness. Rampant violence makes us realize that an unforgiving heart breeds and generates the alarming growth of violence and destruction we witness today. ‘Forgiveness’ is neither a theory nor a theological idea; it is simply one of the beautiful virtues of humanity. And this virtue is inherent in every individual, yet so seldom shown. Seeing forgiveness in short supply in our society and the desire to spread the message of forgiveness, Seventy Times Seven (70X7) was formed on 8th Aug’2002, based on the Gospel of Matthew Ch 8: 21, 22. |

The group comprises of thirteen members from different walks of life. The group is a cross between a Praise & Worship Team and a Contemporary Gospel Band. Recently, they have widened to include entrepreneurship and event management Initially, they started off by organizing and staging mini-concerts at Changtongya Town, Tuli Town, Tzudikong, Mangkolemba, Ungma, Mopungchuket and various other Churches in and around Mokokchung Town. These mini-concerts were staged within a period of five months, from Sept’2002 to Jan’2003. While they were taking these first steps, their families, friends and well wishers backed them both financially and spiritually, since they started out with virtually not a penny to their name. Rapidly following this, they performed at Mokokchung in 2003 and 2004, and in 2005, they performed two shows at Darjeeling, which was organized by The Great Commission. This was a special blessing not only for them, but also for the people of Darjeeling, as they got the chance to perform at the Glenary’s bar called ‘The Buzz’, under the theme “Gospel Nite.” In the same year they staged another Concert at Kohima, followed by two more at Alichen and Mokokchung in 2006. Since the inception of 70 X 7, one of the biggest projects they have undertaken will be to organize Miss Mokokchung Pageant 2007 in association with the Mokokchung District Art and Culture Council (MDACC). The Pageant will be a mega event of the much-awaited, talked about M FEST 2007. |
