The Mokokchung District Art & Culture Council (MDACC) is a non-profit, non-political, charitable organization engaged in the promotion of art, culture, music and crafts. MDACC is registered under the Registration Act of 1860 vide Regd. No. RS 3076 of 1988. The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung District is the ex-officio President of the Council. It was established in 1988 with Mr. Alemtemshi Jamir (IAS) the then Deputy Commissioner, as the first President. To achieve its objectives, the Council has four societies: Literature Society, Music Society, Dance & Drama Society and Fine Arts Society, each headed by a Director who is also a member of the Council. Organizing plays & dramas, social & cultural activities, literary competitions and other similar events are some of the regular activities of the Council. It also regularly organizes the Miss Mokokchung Beauty Pageant.
